well that was terrible

i mean. it was a really good movie. intermittently excellent even. but. i kinda got the premise mixed up with that other zoo movie and expected a happy go lucky children‘s movie about a family acquiring a zoo. not a coming of age war movie that set new standard for depicting families during war time for me, and where you really aren’t sure if it‘ll have a happy end, and also i didn’t expect to cry 3 (!) times during the last 40 or so minutes, and also WHAT THE FUCK. that was a good movie and i think i‘m gonna be thinking about it for a while.

this is so cool my guys!!! last time i was obsessed with damian o'hare, this movie was about to come out and i was sooo pissed i didn’t get to see it. and then the obsession stopped and i mostly forgot about it. now, 7 years later, i‘m back on my bs and BOY I‘M WATCHING THAT MOVIE NOW! 2017 me would be so happy 🩷

#can we talk about jane for a second bc THAT PERFORMANCE #was SO BAD.#at least that’s what i kept thinking. except then i kept thinking. dude. this girl‘s life sucks #and then when mrs austin wrote that letter it clicked and the whole character made sense and uhm i‘m not crying #the characters are so good????#charlie? the vet? pete?#yeah man #also the raid scenes were brutal. idk. you‘ve seen those a million times but here they kinda hit differently #(no pun intended jesus christ)#anyway i need something to dry my tears now #ALSO! i‘m happy to report that my tags on the original post were accurate and my boy survived #i was really fucking unsure there for like. 70 minutes #he‘s so pretty. he‘s so beautiful #ugh #OH and also i‘m SO GLAD they didn’t cgi those animals #especially the elephant
